I've been very busy the past few evenings - crafting til the wee small hours!

You see, on Thursday we woke up to find everything under a beautiful blanket of fresh white snow. School was cancelled, so as soon as Ruth, Alex and I had had breakfast it was out to play in it! We made a couple of (very little!) snowmen, and had a mini snowball fight. I could have stayed out all day, but they were getting cold, so we had to go in after about an hour.

Later in the afternoon we walked up to the shops to buy some food essentials as taking the car wasn't an option - there were several inches of snow everywhere and it was beautiful! We didn't expect the snow to last the night, so made the most of it, and I took lots of photos!

We woke up the next morning and the snow was still there! School was cancelled again, and as it had been the last day of term, it was now half term holiday! Great for the kids, but leaving me no time to make Ruth's Love and Fairy mini books, and birthday card! Panic!!!!

Ruth and I walked to the post office in the afternoon. By lunch time it had started snowing really heavily again, and we walked back across the football fiend and there was 6 inches in places. We pretended it was a polar expedition, and she was really happy and cheerful - not normally like that when she has to walk anywhere!

On Saturday I couldn't get to the crop I was desperate to go to as the roads here were still too dangerous. In the afternoon, Ruth and I walked through the fields of slushy snow to town to get the last of her birthday presents. It took an hour although its only about a mile, as our feet were sliding all over the place. Her feet got wet and we couldn't find wellys in her size anywhere, but we got the bus home, and Granny and Uncle David were on it too, so that cheered her up!

Back to the craft board now!
